Spraypaint, Acrylic & Photos on Cardboard. 14" x 17.5"
This piece is part of a personal project, just one painting from a series of twelve. Each painting representing a month of the year & serving as a physical embodiment of that particular months experiences. Focusing on line and color primarily, each piece consisted of a spraypainted back drop with elements of collage & a paint pen portrait on scraps of dumpstered cardboard. The piece shown here now represents November, the headline to the left reads “unnecessary” in Portuguese & quoting an Elliott Smith song just below that. The reverse side of the cardboard reveals itself to be a chunk of Nordictrack packaging crisscrossed with thin strips of duct tape.
This series has been broken up at this point with the majority of pieces being sold & finding new homes, a few should still be available in the wild though. Looking through the images I have on MySpace or FaceBook, I'm sure some can be seen.
